Terms

What we agree to do, what you agree to do, and who owns the content.

Plain language, because a station manager should be able to read this without a lawyer.

What we agree to do

We write posts in the volumes set out in your plan and publish them to the website(s) you have connected. One subscription can publish the same posts to more than one website. A website that needs different content or a different voice needs its own subscription. A post covers news, events, contests and obituaries alike; they all count against the same allowance. Volumes are per week or per month as your plan states. If we fall short in a given week we make it up in the following one.

Posts are published into WordPress’s own Posts. Publishing into third-party or custom plugins is not part of the standard service. Where we agree to build a custom solution, we set out what it covers separately.

What you agree to do

Keep your subscription paid, keep the plugin installed and active, and tell us if your website address changes. Do not send us material you do not have the right to give us. Photographs sent from your stations are ones you own or have permission to use.

Who owns the content

You do. Every post we publish to your website belongs to your station from the moment it appears. That does not change if you cancel, and we do not remove it.

We keep a record of what we published and when, so we can show it to you on your account page and answer questions later.

Accuracy

We write from what you send us and from sources we can read. We do not invent facts. Anything published to your website is published under your station’s name, which means your station is the publisher of record. Read your review queue if that matters to you, and it should.

Tell us about a mistake and we correct it. Correcting the record is normal in this business and we treat it that way.

Paying, and stopping

Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance. You can cancel from your account at any time, and the subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for. We do not refund part-periods, and we do not bill you again after you cancel.

If a payment fails, we retry it daily and keep delivering content for up to three days. After that, content will stop and will not accumulate until payment is resolved. We will tell you rather than switching you off without warning.

Suspending an account

We may pause delivery if a payment stays unpaid, if the connected website stops responding, or if we are asked to publish something we consider unlawful or defamatory. We tell you why.

Changes to these terms

If we change them, we tell subscribers by email before the change takes effect. Carrying on after that means you accept the new version.

The legal minimum

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
